Energy security and climate change - How Germany is facing the challenges of the 21st century

Since July 2007 Dr. Holgar Kolley works as the head of the Economic and Science section of the German Embassy in Ottawa.

Born in Leipzig (Germany) in 1964 Dr. Kolley has studied physics at the University of Leipzig from 1985 to 1990. In 1995 he wrote a doctoral thesis on the Detection of intramolecular distances in solid state substances using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).

Before coming to Ottawa Dr. Kolley has been posted to the German Embassies in Belgrade and Ljubljana and worked in the German Foreign Office in the Department of European affairs, in the Political Department and in the Department for Culture and Education.
